Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
